Yes, no problem!

Where can I get the CRYPTOCALL client app?

You can get the CRYPTOCALL client app at your smartphone app store.

How easy is it to use the CRYPTOCALL client app?

Very easy to use. Once you open the CRYPTOCALL client app, simply select a telephone number from your contacts list or dial the number you want. The recipient of the call must also have the CRYPTOCALL app installed and be registered on the same IncoServer. Once your call has been connected, a key is generated which the call recipient must verbally confirm to you. Your call is then encrypted.

Why do we recommend that you encrypt your cell phone calls in particular?

When cell phones are used over GSM or UMTS networks no reliable protection can be guaranteed for the information transmitted over the air interface. The GSM encryption algorithm can be ‘cracked’ with a moderate amount of effort and at very little cost. Passive and active eavesdropping methods differ. Passive listening devices can only receive and cannot transmit themselves and are therefore untraceable by the victim. They mostly listen in on the radio transmission path between the cell phone and the base station. Active eavesdropping methods facilitate ‘man-in-the-middle’ attacks as they are known, by using mobile IMSI catchers. The IMSI catcher simulates the operation of the base station, pretending to be the cellular network operator.

What encryption algorithm is used?

CRYPTOCALL by IncoTecs uses the AES-256 encryption algorithm. AES stands for Advanced Encryption Standard and is currently one of the most widely used and secure encryption methods in the world. AES itself has three variants: AES-128, AES-192 and AES-256, the numbers in the names refer to the selected key length in each case. The algorithm is freely available to the public.

Do I need a WiFi connection to use the app?

What is the voice quality like?

The person I am calling does not have CRYPTOCALL, can I still encrypt my call with him or her?

What is the IncoServer?

If you want to encrypt your smartphone calls using CRYPTOCALL, you must be registered on the IncoServer. The IncoServer forwards each call to the relevant participant. It is located in your data center. The IncoServer can be connected to your existing telecommunications infrastructure, allowing users to dial in securely to your company network. Several IncoServers can be connected to form one larger network, to connect company subsidiaries securely with one another.
